Suit Filed Against Historic Property Rip-Off

Three citizens, including Mike Levy (former publisher of the Texas Monthly) filed suit against the City of Austin on April 11, 2011.  Read their petition to the court laying out why Austin’s Historic Property Program has been so thoroughly gamed by Austin’s wealthiest, they need not even establish a need for tax-exemptions.

Please Note:  Some of the hogs at the public trough are still at it.  They packed the Travis County Commission meeting 10 days following this lawsuit, insisting on being grandfathered and they’re pressuring AISD to reverse a decision to disallow the exemptions until the problems are resolved.
